Liv's Look for Less: Monokini
Updated: Jun 7, 2020
Swimsuit season is here and this year’s trends offer flattering options for every shape and size. From sporty halter tops to knitted bikinis, there’s something for everyone.
Strategically placed cut-outs can be a sexy, yet classy way to show your style and curves. I especially love this look in a one-piece. However, finding this style with an affordable price tag can be tricky since you don't want to skimp on quality when wearing a monokini. In today's "Look for Less," I'm excited to share this stunning suit, which is under $40.
Where I Found It
After perusing different department stores and swimwear shops, I found this suit at Target for just $34.99 (cue happy dance).
Since cut-out suits fit each of us differently, finding the right monokini style can be tricky. In my quest for the perfect one-piece, I wanted a higher leg cut to elongate my legs. This bohemian chic Xhilaration suit features a higher leg cut without being too much. The back is adjustable for a custom fit and the cross back straps offer just the right support. I would caution that the band which wraps around the rib cage is not elastic. Depending on your bust size, you may want to consider sizing up.
I absolutely love the hand crochet detail, which highlights this season's embroidery trend. The pink and orange add a pop of color against the jet grey suit.
Of course, every boating day requires the right bag. This starfish bag from Mud Pie is the perfect size for your beach essentials and is big enough to throw in your towel as well.
The rope-like straps add a nautical touch while the white and gold color combo matches with just about any swimsuit.
