Liv's Look for Less: Daytime Style
Updated: Jun 7
While I always try to feature affordable pieces on my blog, I especially love putting together a “look for less." Although there are times to splurge, fashion doesn’t have to cost a fortune, and these posts are a testament to that.
I styled this entire outfit (yes, even including the shoes) for just $100. I love this look because it’s casual, yet still has a polished touch to it— meaning you can get a lot of wear out of it. Today’s look was inspired by a recent visit to Little Harbor marina. It’s perfect to wear on your next day trip or pack for an upcoming vacay because of its versatility and comfort.
Here’s where I found the pieces, and how you can achieve the same look with an affordable price tag.
Destroyed denim is a fun way to incorporate a bit of edginess into your look. Sometimes ripped jeans are made of a stiffer material, but these ones by KanCan are super comfy, and have a nice stretch to them. They’ve become a go-to in my wardrobe and can transform a simple top into a fashionable outfit. I found them at T.J. Maxx for $24.99.
Usually I’ll shell out $100 or more for jeans because I’m a stickler on quality and fit. After wearing this pair on several different occasions, I really feel these offer quality and affordability. I’ll definitely purchase more from this line in the future. Here’s a pair of KanCan jeans for sale on T.J. Maxx’s website for $24.99. This link is for a pair that are more distressed for sale on Amazon.
I paired the distressed jeans with a ruffled pink top to add femininity to the ensemble. The top was a steal at $9.99 and is Ollie & Chloe by Jolie.
Maybe it’s just the 90’s girl in me, but I am all about the backpack trend— especially when traveling or sightseeing. I had my eye on this Rebecca Minkoff backpack, but didn’t want to spurge $400 on it.
I found a very similar style by Isabelle at T.J. Maxx— lately I’ve been on a Maxxinista roll! It’s vegan leather, lead-free and has a much more affordable price tag of $29.99.
I love the medium size, and the blush color is perfectly on trend. I recommend adding a blush clutch, purse or backpack into your summer wardrobe— the color is neutral enough to match with just about anything, but will add interest to your look.
While I couldn’t find the Isabelle backpack on T.J. Maxx’s website, you may be able to find one similar in your local store. If you prefer to shop online, check out this one by Meile Bianco which was recently reduced from $52 to $28 on Amazon. Just be aware that the Meile Bianco is a mini backpack, so it will be smaller than the one I styled above. Another option in a size similar to mine is this Diophy backpack for $34.99 (original price $79.99).
I finished the look with a pair of lace-up demi wedges, also in blush. They’re designed by Kenneth Cole, and I nabbed them for $36— less than half of the original price. Even better, they’re comfortable while still featuring a small wedge for some height. I had no problem wearing these all day, which make them another great choice for your next getaway.
Here's a nearly identical pair on T.J. Maxx's website by Esprit for $19.99.
As always, thanks for reading! Let me know what "looks for less" you want to see featured.
