Summer Style Essential: Blush Blazer
Updated: Jun 7, 2020
You may notice a trend with a few of my recent posts. I can’t seem to get enough of blush.
The trendy pale pink color, which has been dubbed "millennial pink," is subtle, inviting and universally flattering. It seriously looks great on everyone!
In this look, I'm styling an essential piece for your summer wardrobe: the blush blazer.
This BCBGeneration Welt Pocket Tuxedo Blazer is lightweight and comfortable, yet still has a structured appearance. It has become a go-to piece in my wardrobe, and I have a few of this same style in different colors. Honestly, I could use one in every color. It manages to look polished, yet sexy at the same time. The price is $118, but all regular-price BCBG items are currently 30 percent off so make sure to snag one now.
Often times, blazers can be boxy, however, this one has a great fit. The angled design creates a slimming effect.
In addition to its fit, this blazer is one of my favorite pieces because of its versatility. It can be worn with countless blouses and separates for a variety of occasions.
In this look, I styled the blazer with a surplice bodysuit by 1.STATE, and a black textured pencil skirt from Don Me Now for a stylish professional look-- making it a great desk-to-dinner outfit.
While my skirt is no longer available for purchase, I'm linking to a similar textured style here.
The blush blazer can also be dressed up for date night when worn over a dress, or dressed down for girls' night out with a pair of skinny jeans.
This easy stretch-jersey bodysuit can also be worn for a variety of occasions. It creates a svelte tucked-in look and has adjustable spaghetti straps. While some bodysuits are tight, this one has a looser fit to create a blouse effect. As an added bonus, the top is reasonably priced at $69.
I love pairing this bodysuit and blazer with white distressed denim for an on-trend summertime look.
I finished the outfit with simplistic jewelry to compliment the style. The combination of gold or rose gold accessories is simply stunning with blush. I completed the look with Sam Edelman t-strap black studded heels.
If you're looking to pair the blazer with another color other than black, I recommend neutrals, including white, grey, and tan. For a more edgy look, wear it with with a new neutral like navy, denim or olive-khaki.
