What to Wear: Summer Date Night
There's something so romantic about summer, isn't there?
Whether you're single, married or "it's complicated," you want a date-night outfit that celebrates your femininity, personal style and confidence.
A few of y'all recently emailed me a question we've all struggled with: what to wear on the first date. Although my answer varies based on the type of date planned, as a general rule of thumb, you want to wow with your outfit, without looking over-the-top. There's something incredibly attractive about effortless style.
After receiving several questions about date-related outfits, I decided to feature a look that is elegant yet on trend for a dressier date. And for those of you who are happily single and don't have an upcoming date in sight (cue all my single ladies), this look is also perfect for a nice dinner out with friends.
A wrap skirt is a fabulous piece for your summer wardrobe. It's ethereal and universally flattering. I love this blush skirt because the color and style will seamlessly transition into fall.
I paired the skirt with a black bodysuit by BCBGeneration. This bodysuit is so versatile and can easily be dressed up or down. Although this particular one is sold out, I'm linking a similar style that I just ordered from Nordstrom.
If a body suit is tighter than what you're comfortable wearing, pair the skirt with a fitted blouse. Just remember, when you're wearing a flowy skirt, you want to balance the look with a form-fitted top.
I completed the outfit with a pair of nude strappy heels and a black quilted clutch. Lately, I've been all about the nude heel-- this pair elongates my legs, and matches with everything for summer. Here is a great pair of nude heels by Chinese Laundry.
What are some of your favorite summer date-night ideas? I'd love to hear your date suggestions for this time of year!
