It seems a little silly writing about fall fashion while it's 90 degrees outside here in Florida. Whether or not the weather is cool, there is a shift in season -- which means there should be a shift in our wardrobe too.
Regardless of your weather, a suede skirt is a perfect piece to add to your fall wardrobe.
I've rounded up my favorite suede and faux-suede skirts and linked them below. If you're in warmer weather (like me), wear with heels, open-toed booties or flats. When the temperature starts dropping, you can pair with OTK boots or tights.
Several of you have asked me to offer tips for finding flattering styles based on your body type. Remember, there are no rules when it comes to this or anything in fashion for that matter. But here are a few suggestions for getting that right fit and feeling fabulous!
Boy-shaped: You've got so many styles to choose from. A pleated or ruffled skirt is a great way to femme up your look. A body-hugging style will create curves.
Pear-shaped: A pleated A-line or pencil skirt (if you want a tighter fit) that hits at the knee or slightly above creates an elegant and shapely silhouette.
Petite: Shorter hemlines will elongate your legs. High-waisted styles and flesh-tones will also create the illusion of longer legs.
My biggest piece of advice is finding a skirt that makes YOU feel the most confident. If you love your legs, then show them off with a shorter hemline. At the end of the day, fashion is a chance to play up the features you're most proud of.
Pencil skirts, like the one I'm wearing in the picture above, are universally flattering and can easily transition from meetings to martinis.
If you have any more questions on styling suede skirts or finding the perfect fit, please don't be a stranger. I LOVE hearing from y'all!
